DUNHILL Windproof Lighter made of Sterling Silver. World War Two vintage. Near mint in box, with instruction sheet and order form for replacement wicks and flints. This lighter has been lit, but nearly-all of the wick remains, and the spare wick is in the box. The red box lid has the trademark; “dunhill Windproof Lighter” “Sterling Silver”, and “Pat Pending Made in U.S.A.” The lighter body is 1 ¾” long and the lighter is 2 ¼” over all. The side of the lighter body is stamped “DUNHILL WINDPROOF, PAT PD’G MADE IN U.S.A., STERLING SILVER” The “F” in WINDPROOF is lightly struck. This lighter when lit has a large wick which glows to light a cigarette or fire from. It produces no flame. What a great World War Two vintage fire starter, and in Sterling Silver! It is scarce to find these in their correct boxes, and with all the paperwork.
