German early WW1 enhanced Photograph Postcard, “Sanitatshund mit Fuhrer”. 3 5/8” x 5 1/2”. This is a touched up, enhanced , photograph. It appears to have the edges of the subjects darkened to make them pop out in the photo, vis a 1915 effort anyway. The Medical Dog and his soldier/ handler show great details to their equipment; the soldier has a flashlight, pack, & 3 pocket cartridge box. The German Shepherd Dog has beautiful facial details, and it’s water bowl and bedroll in it’s backpack. It has a ink written note in “old German” on the back, and was mailed in Bavaria. It was “Published for the benefit of the German Association for Medical Dogs”. Great subject matter! Stored in an archival ploypropylene sleeve. Price: $35.00 (ref. B-804b)
