These rare watermarked cards are often overlooked by collectors since they appear to be a plain, mostly-blank postcard. The scene printed on the card shows a French soldier holding a picture of his gal back home, amid the ruins of battle. Holding it to the sun will reveal the watermarked artwork, which answers the question; “Ou le Tommy est-il reste?” (“Where is the Tommy Staying?”). This very scarce example shows a French woman in a red dress embracing a British Soldier, as he puts his hand up the her dress! How demoralizing for the Frenchman! This example is clean with a few handling marks as shown. It has a slightly darkened white paper color that makes this a clean example. Watermarked Propaganda cards are very scarce!
