Submarine S-49 Traveling Exhibit Brochure- 1930's

$30.00

Submarine S-49 Traveling Exhibit Brochure. The S-49 was commissioned in June 1922, and was in service in the U.S. Navy until 1931. Due to the London Naval Treaty of 1930, the S-49 was sold out of the U.S. Navy fleet to reduce the number of submarines in the U.S. Navy and satisfy the terms of the treaty. Her history during that time and after is in this 6” x 9”, 8 page brochure. It was published by the S-49’s new owner, who toured the submarine and exhibited it to promote a “STRONG NAVY”, “STRONG NATION”. There are great pictures of her interior with descriptions and other submarine related photos. The dark spot on the upper cover translates through the brochure as a stain and , on one page, where the two pages stuck together. This condition issue is along the edge of the page tops and does not effect the printing, pictures or content. This exhibit hand-out has great Submarine content, and is a scarce brochure. Price: $30.00 (ref. TB A-176)
