WW2 Press Photo- "THE ONLY ARMY DIVING UNIT IN FRANCE" July 8, 1944

$18.00

"THE ONLY ARMY DIVING UNIT IN FRANCE" July 8, 1944 Press Photograph. 5 7/8” X 4” photographic paper with a 4 1/8” X 4” image of a Hard Hat Diver being attended by a GI tender and an officer smoking a cigarette!. The reverse of this Associated Press War Corespondent original Photograph has it’s original paper “slug” glued on. It has a Censor’s “PASSED FOR PUBLICATION” ink stamp which shows it was passed July 8, 1944 by SHAEF FIELD PRESS CENSOR. There also is a weak press identification ink stamp. The enlargement show the higher resolution of the image. These images show old time printing wavy edges and drying blems. These are typical development methods for the rush to get these images published in free world newspapers. This image was probably shot in a large format Speed Graphic Press Camera. Price: $18.00 (ref. A-276d)
