WW2 Press Photo- U.S. Army Nurses Target Practice, Normandy. July 6, 1944

$20.00

U.S. Army Nurses Target Practice in Normandy. July 6, 1944- WW2 Normandy War Correspondent Photograph. 5 15/16” X 4” photographic paper with full image of a firing line of US Army Nurses being instructed by G.I.’s. The nurses are shooting M-1 Carbines with early rear flip-sights and “high wood”. The reverse of this War Correspondent original Photograph has it’s original paper “slug” glued on. It has a Censor’s “PASSED FOR PUBLICATION” ink stamp, and a PLANET NEWS” identification ink stamp. The Censor’s stamp shows it was passed July 6, 1944 by British Ministry of Publication. The enlargement show the higher resolution of the image. These images show old time printing wavy edges and drying blems. Typical development methods for the rush to get these images published in free world newspapers. When this photo was dried a crease was created down the foremost soldier’s arm. It is visible at some angles, and disappears in others. This image was probably shot in a large format Speed Graphic Press Camera. Price: $20.00 (ref. A-276c)
