U.S. WW2 AAC POW personal Letters and Cards sent home- "STAMMLAGER Luft 2"

$150.00

U.S. WW2 Army Air Corp P.O.W. Correspondence Home Grouping. Three letters and three postcards from an American Army Air Corp POW held in “M.- Stammlager Luft 3”. Written by First Lt. John C. Dennis of Norwich, CT to his sister, younger brother and parents. He writes briefly of his flights over the channel, and often of his position on the sidelines as others get married and family members live their lives, and an uncle dies back home. The correspondances start in February 1944 and run through September. Each is postmarked and stamped with both the German and American Censor stamps on their fronts, along with the title “Kriegsgefangenenpost” or Post of prisoners of war. The first letter has been censored by the German Censor. The folding letters have a paper tab which slips through a cut in the page. One letter has a complete tab, the next has a bit of the tab and the third is missing the tab. The written content is in pencil and is complete and readable. It is tough to find several POW letters home, these six make a nice grouping.  Price: $150.00 (ref. B-6021)
