World War One PHOTO, French Victors with German Prisoners. 5” X 7” Photo from WW1 with an ink notation on the reverse; “18. Boche prisoners immediately after they came in to the second dressing post (not my picture)”. It shows about six German soldiers, several with gauze dressings among many French soldiers. In the center is a French Officer appearing to confront a German. This photo has it all; action and great emotion. Notice another photographer on the peak of the roof in the background. The Germans are all carrying their Gas Mask Canisters, but I would guess they have thrown the mask away and are carrying personal items in the canister. Lots going on in this photo.
