"Eagle Riding on a Shell" Historical Staffordshire green transfer Cup and Saucer- 1830's

$150.00

Historical Staffordshire green transfer Cup and Saucer. “Eagle Riding on a Shell” pattern by Ralph Hall and Son. The border of each piece is a shell and scroll pattern. The cup is 2 3/8” tall x 3 11/16” in diameter. Saucer is 1 ¼” tall x 5 ¾” in diameter. The saucer is marked on it’s bottom in the same green color; “Eagle” & “R. Hall & Son” within a cartouche with boughs at each side. Ralph Hall is listed as a Tunstall potter producing at the Swan Bank Works starting before 1825. This set is from the 1830’s. The rim of the saucer has typical fine glaze chips from being held off the kiln tray with pottery scraps. There are no other condition issues and both pieces are in excellent condition with no cracks or repairs. Very nice early American theme pottery imported from England to the United States. Price: $150.00 (ref. C-319)
