1876 Centennial Exposition- Flags of Participating Nations Printed Cotton Panel

$165.00

1876 Centennial Exposition- Flags of Participating Nations Printed Cotton Panel. 16” tall x 24” wide. It shows a colorful display of the 37 nations who were represented at the U.S. 1876 Centennial Exhibition, held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from May 10 to November 10, 1876. The word “PATENTED” appears on the left edge of the panel. It appears that both that edge and the right one are finished and not raw as the top and bottom are. I believe the bound “finished” edge was the idea being patented. This panel shows with bright colors, and with the actual color of the nation flags well represented. The United States flag has 38 stars, and our friend Great Britain with their old Royal Standard. It has been gently folded for years, and I believe seldomly unfolded. It could easily be conserved to mount in a frame. Price: $165.00 (ref. B-6471)
