U.S. M-3 BOKER guard marked Fighting Knife w/ 2nd Var. M-8 Scabbard

$925.00

M-3 BOKER Guard Marked, light parkerized finish, with factory edge (not owner sharpened). There is mild scabbard retention spring rub to blade flats and leading edge of the tip bevels. Blade has approx. 95% original thin parkerized finish. Thin parkerizing was typical to BOKERS. The guard is staked and has a ¼” Ordnance Bomb inspection stamp boldly struck. The guard and pommel cap and the throat of the scabbard have been painted green in the period of use. Why? The leather handle has some minor dents and some rounding of the groove edges. The M-8 Scabbard is the second variation, which has the same length web belt loop as the early variation, with a modification of adding the belt hook devise. This scabbard has a leg tie, and G.I. applied period paint finish on the body. A Soldier’s id number is inked on the rear of the loop, somewhat indistinct. Boker only made 31,300 M-3s and only in blade and guard marked, making this example in this condition rare, and it is with a modified M-8 scabbard which are very scarce. Price $925.00 (A5-7)
