U.S. Navy WW2 MARK 2 Knife- blade marked Camillus w/ early leather scabbard
U.S. Navy WW2 MARK 2 Knife with early leather scabbard. The right ricasso is marked; “CAMILLUS,N.Y.” and the left is marked; “U. S. N. MARK 2”. the blade retains nearly all of it’s dark gray Parkerized finish. The edge and false edge have their original factory sharpening, although there is very fine “chatter” roughness to the blade edge starting half way down the blade and towards the point. The leather stacked handle is darkened, and has separation between some leather discs, these are tight to the tang and the guard is tight with no wiggle. The leather scabbard is marked; “U. S. N.” at the throat. The leather keeper strap is missing the end tab next to the top snap, and this leather strap is dry, though it is solid and functional. This U.S.N. MARK 2 by Camillus is a nice early example with lots of original condition and has a correct early scabbard. $260.00 (ref. C-331)
