US World War One Victory Medal with a Navy “GRAND FLEET” Bar. Navy recipients of the Victory Medal received bars that were edged in a twisted rope pattern. This bar is a “GRAND FLEET” designation. The medal has an excellent patina. The ribbon is slightly faded with wear at highlight points. Victory Medals with Navy bars are scarce, and this one was given to a Navy Sailor serving on the Sixth Battle Squadron reinforcing the British, at Scapa Flow to contain the German navy.
