$125.00

Cast Iron “Tooth-pick Bird” Dispenser. This three-piece cast iron assembled dispenser is 4” long x 2 ½” wide x 3 3/8” tall at the top of the bird head. It weighs nearly 1 1/4 pound. Two machine screws with nuts hold the base to the deck. The woodpecker pivots from the deck. The bird is 3 ¾” from his sharpened beak to the tip of his tail. This example dates from circa 1875-1900’s. These were common at the counter of a general store. Pay for your groceries and get a tooth-pick. Early Tooth-pick Bird Dispensers are far less common than the slush cast/painted examples which were “Made in Japan” after WW2. This is a folksey General Store accessory. Un-marked.
