French Silver Cup by Paris Maker; Jean-Nicols Boulanger, circa 1809-1819.

$650.00

Beautiful French Silver Cup. This one has many adornments; two applied Putti on Swans are on each side, with an applied laurel wreath at the front. The handle is cast. There are dot edging, coin edging and pierce work on the foot. It was made by Paris maker; Jean-Nicols Boulanger, 9 cour Neuve-du-Pailais. He was active in Paris, starting February 22, 1783. His touchmark, located on the bottom has “un pilon” (a scale) and the letters J, N and B. The French assay mark indicates this cup was made between 1809 and 1819. This is an excellent example of a French master silversmith’s work. It would be a wonderful addition to a collection of antique French silver. I would like this one to go home to France. $650.00 (ref. TR-771)
