French Souvenir Bracelet. Hearaldry of France, G.I. Bring-back

$65.00

French Souvenir Bracelet. Probably produced just post liberation for the G.I.’s occuping France. Hardly fine jewelry, it is a non-ferrus metal, probably plated brass, with a weak gold wash which shows in protected areas. The six shield panels, each having a hearaldry of France, these are nicly enameled. Left to right are; Ile-de-France (region), Normandy (region), unknown, Free France (WW2), the City of Paris, and Bretagne (region). This example has been well worn, and has edge wear to the plating, which exposes the base metal. It has a simple clasp. I think it is wonderful that it has the Free French hearaldry. It is a great example of a freed France, and a nice G.I. bring-back souvenir! Price: $65.00 (ref. B-767)
