GARMISCH Recreational Center PIN- German made, just post-WW2
GARMISCH Recreational Center PIN- German made, just post-WW2
GARMISCH Recreational Center enamel PIN. This center was provided by the U.S. military for Allied soldiers occupying Germany, who were on leave to ski in Bavaria at Garmisch. The pin is a souvenir from that ski center. It is 1 ¼” tall x 1 5/16” wide and having four enameled colors on the brass background. It shows nice graphics of a skier in red and black with white cap and gloves , and with white mountains and several blue lakes in the background. The blue sky has “GARMISCH” across the top of the shield with RECREATIONAL CENTER” in the red “V” at the lower half of the shield. Two skis lay horizontally. Interestingly, the pin attachment at the back is a typical design to those on German WW2 produced tinnies and pins. This pin was made in Germany just post-WW2. Scarce. Price: $38.00 (ref. C-313)
