Bluewing Teal Decoys. By Wildfowler Decoy Co. of Quogue, Long Island, New York.

$1,250.00

Bluewing Teal Decoys, a drake and hen pair. They were made by Wildfowler Decoy Co. of Quogue, Long Island, New York. Hand painted yellow pine with glass eyes; drake is 10 7/8” long x 5 1/8” wide x 4 5/8” tall. Each has a lead weight and an anchoring staple on their base. Wildfowler was in business from 1939 into the 1960’s. in 1958 a fire destroyed their factory in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. After, the business was sold and moved to Quogue, Long Island, New York, where this pair was made. The pair has been floated and hunted over in Stony Brook Harbor by Ed Moger of Centereach, L.I. (so the note that came with them says). They have a lovely painted patina, strong colors and detail work. They have some handling wear overall and to the paint on the edges of their tails, and bills. They smell like yellow pine. A beautiful Bluewing Teal Decoy pair with great patina. From the same source as the Greenwing Teal decoys currently listed. Price: $1250.00 (ref. A-31)
