Lyman Targetspot 12x Telescopic Rifle Sight- circa 1934

$525.00

LYMAN Targetspot 12 Power Rifle Scope w/ mounts, bases and lens caps. The “Targetspot” series was introduced in 1934. They are known for their external windage and elevation adjustments on the rear ring. This example is serial number 531, and is probably made in 1934-35. The scope barrel towards the rear eyepiece is marked; “531”, “THE LYMAN GUN SIGHT CORP”, MADE IN U.S.A. MIDDLEFIELD, CONN”, “ DES PAT. NO. 96664 PAT. PEND.” and “TARGETSPOT”. At the rear eyepiece, it is marked;“12 POWER”. It is in excellent condition with nearly all it’s blued finish. There is an approximately 1 inch fine line of finish loss on the top of the barrel where the elevation adjustment contacts the rear ring at the 12 0’clock position. This rifle scope is complete with rings, mounts and mount screws. It has threaded metal lens caps front and rear. These were favorites of competitive shooters for years. They were discontinued in 1978. This early, first or second year of production Lyman scope would be a fine addition to an early Winchester Model 70 or other 1930’s vintage rifle. It is a beautiful American rifle scope. Price: $525.00 (ref. C-295)
