U.S. Fifth Army Corps Civil War Re-Union Medal

$150.00

U.S. Civil War Fifth Army Re-Union Medal. Long Ribbon. These were distributed to Veterens of the Fifth Army Corps in the fist quarter of the 20 Century. They are scarce because there is no identifying markings. I have seen them identified as re-union medals for the Fifth Army Corp several times and based on the pin’s look, and vintage of the ribbon, etc, that is what I believe they are. This example has a blackened non-ferrus safety pin. The red, white, & blue ribbon is slightly frayed at it’s bottom. It is neatly hand stitched to the pin and medal ring, (typical of the examples I have seen). The slightly convex cross, and attachment rings are non-ferrus metal, with a gilted finish and a lovely red enamel field. The gilt work on this example is excellent. The thin enamel is excellent, it does not have any cracks, as other may. If you look around in New England junk shops long enough, you may find an example, I have, and they are out there and tough to find. If you want one for your U.S. Civil War Veterans’ Re-Union or Fifth Army Corp collection, here you are. Price: $150.00 (ref. TR 9052)
